Established in 2017 by students eager for climate action, Students for Sustainability (SFS) is a regional cohort of youth dedicated to environmental advocacy for the health of current and future generations. With over 15 partnerships with local and national environmental organizations, SFS drives reform through political action, advocacy, and community engagement. SFS collaborates closely with school district boards, OPPD, the city council, and state senators to integrate environmentalism into policies within Nebraska and beyond. SFS has also promoted and maintained multiple composting and recycling programs in local area schools and intends to expand those efforts.
